Vaginal Infection Self Test
The Vaginal Infection Test analyses the pH levels of vaginal swab specimens to facilitate the diagnosis of prevalent vaginal infections, including bacterial vaginosis (BV). The pH range of 3.8 to 4.5 is usually maintained in a healthy vaginal environment, which is important for the balance between good and bad bacteria. Any deviations from this ideal pH range could be a sign that BV is present. On the other hand, symptoms like burning or itching in the vagina or a thick, white discharge could indicate a thrush infection.
Sexual activity, using vaginal hygiene products, using antibiotics, and having underlying medical disorders that affect the immune system can all increase the chance of getting a vaginal infection. Pregnant women are particularly vulnerable to vaginal infections, which can endanger both maternal and fetal health.
By practicing the following, you can reduce your chances of vaginal infection and relieve the symptoms:
• Use only water and plain soap to wash your genital area.
• Wear loose, cotton underwear.
• Avoid vaginal deodorants, washes or douches.
• Have showers instead of baths.
